Discover the New Forevermark Tribute™ Collection at Padis

Padis Jewelry is pleased to offer to our customers the beautiful, new Forevermark Tribute™ Collection.  Forevermark explains the new collection “pays tribute to what makes her the incredible woman she is.”  They add that the multiple diamonds represent her “unique qualities – her independence, her tenderness, her determination, her passion – her individual style, and the depth of her personality.”

The collection features beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced Forevermark diamonds from the De Beers Group of Companies that have provided us with the world’s most exquisite diamonds for more than 125 years.  The multiple diamonds used in the collection are in a variety of shapes and set in various precious gold metals to create stunning rings, bangles, pendants, and drop earrings.  Designed to be easily stacked or layers, the unique pieces symbolize a woman’s distinct style or will make a beautiful gift to a special woman in your life.

Remember less than 1% of the world’s diamonds meet Forevermark’s strict standards of quality and beauty, which must go well beyond the 4Cs to be worthy of the Forevermark inscription.  Moreover all of their diamonds are responsibly sources and come from mines that comply with strict political, financial, social and environmental requirements.  Forevermark also gives back to the communities in which they operate in.

We encourage you to visit Padis Jewelry’s website to browse our Forevermark Collection.  Once you take a look, please set up an appointment to visit our showrooms as the jewelry must be seen in person to truly appreciate its beauty. The Forevermark Tribute™ Collection will make a perfect gift for someone special in your life or for yourself when celebrating a milestone memorable occasion, or just because.

Among our numerous top luxury brands, Padis Jewelry is honored to be an exclusive Authorized Mémoire Retailer.   Mémoire was founded more than 20 years ago by the French company, Orest, who wished to cultivate a new level of quality in the U.S. market as well as expand its distribution.

Built on a reputation of quality and craftsmanship, Mémoire first began by offering extruded 18K gold and Platinum, when at the time, other manufacturers were using cast mountings and 14K gold.  Today, Mémoire explains that their extruded mountings are “absolutely the finest made mountings in the world and rare in the market due to the complicated production process.”  The resulting rings from this proprietary process are extremely strong and dense metal bands with laser cut mountings that are guaranteed for exactness and consistency.

At Padis Jewelry, our collection of Mémoire includes pure Platinum and 18K gold pieces from the Odessa, Purity, Bouquet, and Lovers Lock collections in exquisite diamond bands, earrings and lockets.  One stunning example from the Mémoire Bouquet collection is 18KW pavé, halo cluster earrings that are 1.00 Cttw. and created with G Color and VS2 Clarity Average diamonds.   If you are looking for a ring, you may want to consider Mémoire’s pure Platinum eternity diamond band with 0.81 Cttw.  The ring is designed with G Color and VS2 Clarity Average diamonds.

Repurpose Your Jewelry into Something You Love

Does your jewelry collection include pieces passed down to you from family members? Pieces which have sentimental value but are not your style and which you never wear?  We understand that while you may not want to sell the pieces outright, you might want to consider having the jewelry repurposed into something that better reflects your personal style.

If you like the idea, go ahead and have the pieces appraised by a reputable jeweler.  An appraisal will give you the value of the jewelry as well as what precious metals were used and the quality of the gemstones or diamonds.   At Padis Jewelry, we have an American Gem Society (AGS) certified gemologist appraiser (CGA) on staff who can tell you all about your jewelry.

We also have experience in redesigning jewelry and can help you repurpose your unworn jewelry into a design you will love and wear, yet will still have its sentimental value.  Moreover if you already have an idea of what you want, trust our jewelers to expertly guide you through creating it.

Repurposing old jewelry can help alleviate some of the cost of a brand new custom piece.  In addition, if you have any gold or platinum jewelry you would like to sell, Padis Jewelry can give you a quote based on today’s metal prices.  Please visit our website for contact information to schedule an appointment with the Bay Area’s foremost jewelry experts.

Diamonds are Still the Most Popular Choice for Engagement Rings

The first ever diamond engagement ring is believed to have been commissioned by the Archduke Maximillian of Austria in 1477 for his betrothed, Mary of Burgundy.  The ring was designed in the shape of an “M,” and fashioned from a series of thin, flat diamonds.  The European aristocracy and nobility soon followed suit by giving diamond rings to their intended brides.

Today it is estimated that nearly three-quarters of first-time American brides receive a diamond engagement ring.  A 2014 report from Bain & Company suggests that “China, India and the U.S. will drive the majority of growth in diamond-jewelry consumption over the next decade, in part because of the growing interest in diamond engagement rings in India and China, and a stable interest in the U.S.” In 2016, The Knot’s annual Real Weddings Study found the average cost of an engagement ring was $6,163.

If you want to save some money on the cost of an engagement ring, the American Gem Society (AGS) recommends that you do not sacrifice the cut of the diamond as that is what attributes to the diamond’s brilliance.  Rather they say get the “best cut you can afford, but maybe skimp a bit on clarity and color if you need; slight inclusions (or flaws) and faint coloration will not be visible just by looking at the diamond, and will result in substantial savings.”

At Padis Jewelry we not only carry a large selection of engagement rings from many of the industry’s top luxury brands but also have an inventory of more than 10,000 loose diamonds on hand at any one time.  Moreover we are committed to only buying and selling conflict free diamonds.  Please visit our website to learn more about Padis Jewelry.

Our Loose Diamonds are Certified by the World’s Top Laboratories

At Padis Jewelry, we know it is important to make smart decisions when buying diamonds, which is why it is imperative to shop with a jeweler that has an excellent reputation.  For more than 40 years, family-owned Padis Jewelry has been trusted by people in and around the Bay Area as a place to buy exquisite, responsibly sourced diamonds at an exceptional value.  Our collection of loose diamonds has been certified by the best laboratories in the country including Forevermark, GIA, and the AGS.

As one of the leaders in providing diamond grading, the AGS (American Gem Society) Laboratories’ reports have a reputation for consistency and accuracy that is based on science.  It was in 1966 that the AGS first introduced their members to the AGS Diamond Grading Standards Manuals in an effort to standardize diamond grading methodology, which included grading systems for all of the 4Cs (Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight).

Thirty years later in 1996, the AGS established the AGS Laboratories to recognize the “need in the jewelry industry for a diamond-grading laboratory that shared its mission of consumer protection and optimal business practices and ethics.”  Today the AGS is the only nonprofit diamond grading laboratory with that mission and their impeccable reputation gives both the consumer as well as the jeweler piece of mind about an AGS certified diamond.

Padis Jewelry is pleased to offer our customers the confidence of buying diamonds that are certified by the AGS and the other reputable labs we work with.  Please visit our website to learn more Padis Jewelry and our commitment to selling high-quality loose diamonds at a great value.

Our Diamonds are Independently Graded

When buying diamonds from Padis Jewelry, you can feel confident you are getting what you paid for as every diamond over 0.40 carats comes with an independent grading report that assesses the overall quality and authenticity. Our diamonds are graded at the most trusted and accredited diamond grading laboratories in the industry including the US division of AGS, Forevermark, and GIA.
To give you an idea of what you will see in your diamond’s grading report, you can take a look at a sample GIA grading report on their website.  According to the GIA, their reports represent the “highest standard of reliability, consistency and integrity.”  Your report will include information on the 4Cs (the GIA is the creator of the 4Cs) of your stone and assess the Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight. You will also get a plotted diagram charting the clarity characteristics as well as a graphic representation of the stone’s proportions.
If your diamond is in the D-to-Z color range, your report will also have a GIA Cut grade.  The Diamond Cut grade describes the “components of brightness, fire, scintillation, polish, and symmetry, as well as weight and durability concerns, into a single overall grade for cut quality for standard round brilliants.”
Another service offered by the GIA is their “Report Check” that allows you to confirm that the information on your report matches the archived GIA report database.  All you need to do is to enter your report number on their online search tool.  Also if you have a diamond you want to have authenticated and graded by the GIA Lab, you can submit it to them for a fee.
Please visit the Padis Jewelry showrooms to experience firsthand one of the best inventories of certified loose diamonds in California.  All of our jewelry consultants are diamond experts and we look forward to helping you find your perfect “stone.”
Since 1974, Padis Jewelry has been a trusted source for buying exquisite certified loose diamonds, engagement rings and fine jewelry.  We are one of the only jewelers in the area that offers such an exclusive selection of top names in the industry as well as such a large inventory.  If you are a lover of beautiful jewels, please schedule at visit to our showrooms.

Trust the Experts When You Invest in Jewelry

We understand you want to make smart decisions when buying jewelry.  This is why it is important to shop with a jeweler who has not only been in business for a number of years but has an excellent reputation.  Family-owned Padis Jewelry has both.  Steve Padis started the business in 1974 and it is considered to be the place to go to in the Bay Area for excellent values and an outstanding inventory.

We are also proud to be one of only 5% of jewelers in the country who are accredited members of the American Gem Society (AGS).  The AIG is the country's preeminent jewelry trade organization and is dedicated to consumer protection.  The membership guarantees that AIG accredited jewelers strictly adhere to the highest standards of measurement and quality.

Furthermore, several of our non-commission sales consultants are GIA Graduate Gemologists and our showrooms have two of them available at all times.  This means you receive reliable, educated information about the stones you are buying as our Gemologists are trained in the GIA grading system and the 4Cs used to accurately rate the value of diamonds.  The GIA established the “4Cs” (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight) as well as the International Diamond Grading System™ in the 1940s and are still the standards used today.
In addition all of our certified loose diamonds over 0.40 carats come with an independent grading report that assesses the stone’s overall quality and authenticity.  We invite you to browse our online inventory and then set up an appointment to come in to one of our showrooms in downtown San Francisco.  Also we have a store in St. Helena in Napa Valley.

Padis Jewelry store has a great selection of sapphires, which is September’s birthstone.  The word sapphire comes from the Greek word “sappheiros” and means blue stone.  However while blue may be the most well-known color of sapphires, the gemstones are made from any color of corundum except for red, which are rubies.

Blue sapphires got a lot of attention after the famous blue sapphire engagement ring that Princess Diana received from Prince Charles in 1981 but the stone has been around for centuries.  It was believed to protect its owners from envy and harm by the Ancient Greeks and Romans, and in the Middle Ages, the stones were worn by the clergy and thought to symbolize Heaven.

In addition to blue, fancy sapphires range in color from green, violet-blue, yellow, orange, pink and purple hued stones.  Sapphires are mainly mined in Sri Lanka, Ceylon, Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, Cambodia, Madagascar, Tanzania, Australia, and the U.S. (Montana).

The most famous blue sapphires were from the Kashmir region of India/Pakistan and mined over a hundred years ago.  Very few examples of Kashmir sapphires exist today and then mainly in museums or in photographs.  The stones have a beautiful cornflower blue color.  One 22.66 carat cushion-cut Kashmir sapphire set in a pendant surrounded by diamonds was sold in 2007 at auction for a record $3,064,000. While that breaks down to $135,000 per carat, and was a new record for a sapphire, some gemologists said it was far from the best example of a Kashmir sapphire but rather indicated the stone’s rarity.

While we may not carry Kashmir sapphires, we do have a stunning selection of sapphires that are a part of the Padis Signature Collection.  Visit our website to view our jewelry and for contact information.
