Steve’s journey as a jeweler began with selling beads he had strung on the streets of Berkeley, CA while a student at the University of California, Berkeley.  Once he graduated, he starting creating sterling silver, turquoise and gold chain jewelry.  Judy and Steve met during this time through mutual contacts in the industry.  The Steve Padis Jewelry brand was the formal beginning of the family’s decades-long passion for precious metals and diamonds, and was the start of establishing Padis Jewelry as one of the finest jewelers in San Francisco. 

We now have three large showrooms in the heart of the city’s jewelry district including at The Gift Center and The Jewelry Center.  We also own and operate the Padis Jewelry and Padis Romance store in St. Helena, which is set in California's beautiful wine country.

Our non-commissioned jewelry consultants are diamond experts, and at any given time, we have two GIA Graduate Gemologists on staff to ensure you get expert advice on your jewelry purchases.  We are also a proud, accredited member of the American Gem Society (AGS) of which only 5 percent of jewelers in the country achieve this status.
